Movie Review!-Warm Bodies

Hey Everyone!
I know I said that I've been busy studying, but I'm taking a much needed break right now! I don't know if I've blogged this before, but I have so much fun writing posts that I do it at any chance I can get :) Obviously, my favourite posts are fashion posts and it sucks that I can't do any right now but I think the ones I've been doing are fun as well!

Image is from here.

Right now, I'm going to do a review on 'Warm Bodies', starring Nicholas Hoult (who previously dated Jennifer Lawrence) and Teresa Palmer. To start with, I loved this movie so much it's not even funny. I wasn't expecting that much because when I first heard about it, everyone was telling me that it was a zombie movie and I'm not really into that stuff. However, my sister was bugging me to take her to the movies to watch it (she makes me take her everywhere ever since I got my licence!) My sister and I have really different tastes when it comes to movies, so I was reluctant to go. I fell in love with the movie though! I don't want to give away anything obviously, but the movie hits everything, it has action, romance, and its really funny!

Surprisingly, I found Nicholas Hoult really cute in it! I even thought he was good looking as a zombie...-comment below if you agree! ;). The actors were amazing, there was a guest role from Dave Franco, who is James Franco's younger brother! Also, I thought Teresa Palmer was so pretty in an effortless way. You can tell that she is a natural beauty, and I'm kind of craving a green utility jacket after seeing her wear one!

One thing I forgot to add is I actually watched this movie at the movie theater twice! Normally, I never watch a movie twice at the movie theater because I think that its kind of absurd, and its kind of a waste of money. But the week after I watched it, one of my best friends really wanted to go, so I watched it again. So that shows how much I liked it! :P

All in all, I would give this movie 4/5 Stars! People might think I'm being to generous but I loved it!
Hope you guys enjoyed this, let me know if you would like me to do more posts like this!

What's in my Shower Caddy?

Hey Everyone!
Hope you guys are having a good morning! Unfortunately, I won't be doing any OOTD posts until the weekend, and that makes me sad because its my favourite thing to do! I can't do them until the weekend because I'm at uni right now and its midterm season, so literally all I've been wearing is hoodies and jeans, so that wouldn't make for a very good OOTD post. Anyway, as soon as I'm done with midterms, I will get back on track! Today, I'm going to be showing you guys what's in my shower caddy. Like I said, I'm in uni, and I share a communal washroom with other girls on my floor. I don't have as many products as I do at home, because I carry these things in my bag! I'll also be doing a mini review of each product.

1. Dove Damage Therapy Shampoo

I love this shampoo! I bought it around a month ago and I think it works really well! It's supposed to help damaged hair and make it soft and shiny and it definitely works! I also like this because it doesn't have a fruity or perfumed scent to it, it has a 'clean' scent to it'.

2. Dove Damage Therapy Conditioner

Like the shampoo, I really like this conditioner. It really hydrates my hair and it also helps to make my hair shiny and soft. I put this on the ends of my hair and on the hair above my neck, because my hair tends to get really dry there.

3. Pink Beach Babe

This is a 2-in-1 wash & scrub and its one of my favourite body washes! I really like how its 2-in-1, so not only does my body get washed, it gets exfoliated too. The product itself looks like sand, because of the colour and texture. Weirdly enough, this also smells like sand, but in a good way! It makes you feel like you're on the beach and it smells amazing.

4. TRESemmé Climate Protection Extra Hold Mousse

This is a mousse I like to use if I want to reduce frizz in my hair and add volume. It has keratin, olive oil & UV blocker. It's easy to forget about protecting your hair when it comes to the sun, but its important to shade your hair from the sun too! It also fights humidity, UV rays and wind. I recommend this mousse to everyone!

5. Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer

I love this moisturizer for my face! It's not thick, it blends really well and it keeps my face matte throughout the day. It's also an amazing base if i'm going to put foundation on after!

6. Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

I don't like this product at all. I bought it because I ran out of my Cetaphil Oil Control Face Wash, and it wasn't at my local pharmacy! So, I bought this in hopes that it would help keep my acne at bay and help control my oils. Honestly though, this doesn't help with redness, or acne and I don't feel like my face gets completely clean when I use it. So, I don't recommend this.

7. TRESemmé Heat Protectant Spray

I love this spray! I've been using it for 4 years now and I will continue to buy it. I spray it all over my hair before I straighten/curl it and it helps reduce frizziness, it smells really good and it protects my hair! I would say though, that you have to be careful to not spray this near your roots, otherwise it can make your hair look greasy!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Please let me know if you have requests, or anything in the comments below! Thank you for being patient while I'm doing my midterms! :)

Rose Water as a Toner?

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are having a good morning! :) Today, I'm going to be talking about using rose water as a toner for you face after you've washed it. I first heard about this tip in the summer, when I was breaking out and I didn't know what I was doing wrong. It turns out that the toner I was previously using (Clinique Toner for Combination Skin) had alcohol in it, and that was drying my skin out! Now that I know this, I suggest trying to buy a toner that is alcohol-free, otherwise it can dry your skin out, causing your body to produce more oil in the face area, which leads to pimples.

Before I wrote this post, I researched the benefits of using rose water as a toner, and I can personally attest that all of these reasons are true!

  • It smells heavenly
  • Gentle on your skin
  • 100% Natural
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • It's inexpensive
My Experience:
First off, I started by going to my local supermarket and I bought a bottle of rose water. I tried to find the company/picture online but I couldn't find it! So basically what I would recommend, is to go a store like Bulk Barn and make sure that in the ingredients, there are no chemicals or alcohol (my label literally said: Ingredients-Rose Water). You can also make your own, but I was too lazy for that :P. So, I'll leave a link below if you would like to make your own.

Next, I bought a spray bottle from the dollar store, just so I could transfer the water to the bottle and have an easy way to apply the product to my face. Lastly, I put the water in the fridge just to make sure that the rose water would tighten my pores.

The main reason I'm in LOVE with using rose water as a toner is the smell. Not just the initial smell, but the smell that essentially radiates from your skin when you go to wash your face. I used to put this on my face at night, so when I went to go wash my face in the morning I was incredibly excited. The second the water hits your skin, the soft smell of roses immediately fills the air, and I thought that was the coolest thing ever! I loved using this in the Summer because of the smell and because it kept my skin so hydrated. I'm not sure why I stopped using this trick, I think it was because my rose water ran out and my mom bought me a replacement from the drugstore? Regardless, I am going to start using rose water as a toner again!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and/or found it helpful! Let me know if you have any beauty tips or tricks in the comment section please!

OOTD-February 26, 2013

Hey Everyone!
I know I said that I wouldn't be any posts today, because I would be busy studying, but I woke up early for some reason and decided to use my time to do a quick OOTD. The sweatshirt that I'm wearing is my favourite sweatshirt of all time! I actually had just finished watching Miley Cyrus' movie called 'LOL' and I was lusting after the sweater she wore when she was in France with the shoulder embellishments. By pure coincidence, I went online to Forever21 and decided to do a little shopping. I don't normally shop from the Sale at Forever21, because I never find anything good and I feel like the prices are already affordable. But, that day, I went on the sale and saw a replica of the sweatshirt Miley wore for only $5.99!!! I was so excited, and placed an order immediately (you have to spend at least $60 for free shipping) so I quickly shopped and paid for my items. This sweater is so cute and comfortable and I feel like Miley when I wear it (haha don't judge! ) Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this post, have a great day! :)

OOTD-February 25, 2013

Hello Everyone!
I'm back again! :) Haha, I know this is my third post of the day, but I might not post anything tomorrow, which is why I'm on a grind today! Now normally, I would not wear this on a Monday, but I woke up today in a good mood, and then I found out that my Calculus class was cancelled, which made me even happier! So, I chose an outfit that was polished, yet comfortable  And I only had one class, which only needs a notebook and a pen which is why my bag is so small! Hope you guys enjoy this, and please let me know if you liked it in the comments below! :)

Maroon Blazer: Costa Blanca, $15.00
Black T-Shirt: Joe, $14.00
Necklace: Aldo, $12.00

Flats: Ardene, $10.00

I really love this outfit, and I love how the blazer has the paisley print on the cuffs, adds something unique to the outfit! Hope you guys have a great day!

Oscar Favourites 2013!

Hey Everyone!
I hope you all are having a good day so far! :) As everyone knows, the Oscars were last night and I surprisingly stayed back to watch them after the red carpet special! I thought the show was really well done and the dresses and gowns were stunning! Today, I'm going to show you my favourite looks and explain why!

1. Jennifer Aniston

I thought Jennifer Aniston looked absolutely gorgeous. A lot of critics were saying that it wasn't exciting enough and that Jennifer has already worn dresses like this, but I loved it. The colour and the cut were simple, yet elegant. Her hair looked amazing, as always and I like how there wasn't a piece of standout jewelry, the dress did most of the talking! Of course, Jennifer Aniston's fiancee, Justin Theroux wasn't bad arm candy either! ;)

2. Adele

As a singer, I like Adele, but I don't LOVE her. Her performance and look yesterday was amazing though. Adele had such a fresh, glowy face and her gown looked perfect on her. The fit was amazing and she dressed well for her body type. Her hair also complemented the outfit. Overall, Adele looked stunning.

3. Amanda Seyfried

Where do I start with this dress? The colour, the detailing, or the halter neckline? Amanda looked posititively heavenly in this. Normally, I might not have liked this dress, but she pulls it off so well and the colour complements her so well that I LOVE it. Also, her up-do and the lace detailing on the dress was so elegant that my draw literally dropped when I saw her.

4. Jennifer Lawrence

I'm probably the last person to rave about Jennifer Lawrence's dress, but I can't help it! Jennifer Lawrence looked so beautiful and sophisticated that I almost forgot how down-to-earth and hilarious she is. The necklace was unique and helped pull the look together as well. With the five-foot diameter that she had to deal with while walking around, I don't blame her one bit for taking a spill as she was accepting her award!

5. Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana's dress was totally unexpected and refreshing for me. The detailing at the top and the belt were so different, yet they looked really great together. I loved how she chose something different from a gown and she really pulled it off!

6. Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Oh my goodness, I couldn't stop looking at Jenna and her delectable husband Channing, once they came on the red carpet. Jenna's skin was flawless, her hair was gorgeous and I love how she embraced her bump, instead of hiding it by wearing a loose-fitting gown, or a dress with an empire-waist cut. Pregnancy definitely suits Jenna.

7. Reese Witherspoon

Reese looked fabulous! The colour of her dress was beyond beautiful, and its one of my favourite colours! The cut, the fit, I could go on naming the reasons why she looked so amazing. Her hair was also stunning, it was so smooth and voluminous that I was just sitting there wondering why I couldn't have hair like that! It's so hard to believe that she has a little baby waiting for her at home! I also like how she chose her dress with her daughter, Ava, I thought that was really cute!

8. Jessica Chastain

To be honest, I haven't seen a movie with Jessica Chastain in it, but I am definitely going to watch one now! If I had to describe her look using as few words as possible, I would say; Old Hollywood Glamour. Chastain really emulated the 'Old Hollywood' look with her curls, her make-up and her dress! I loved this look so much!

I hope you guys have a wonderful day, I will try to do one more post today, since I will be busy studying for my midterm tomorrow! Please comment below and let me know who you liked and if you think I missed anyone on this list!

Winter Must-Haves!

Hey Everyone!
Right now, I was just brainstorming ideas for future blog posts and I thought it would be fun to do a little winter must-haves post. I have a lot of things that I use in the winter, but I kept it short because I know how tedious it can be sometimes to scroll through and endless amount of pictures!

1. eos Lip Balm in Honeysuckle-$3.99
I seriously don't know what I would do without this! It is so moisturizing, it smells amazing and
the packaging is really cute! My family is always joking with me, saying that I use an egg for lip-balm.

2. Victoria's Secret PINK Body Lotion in Make it Shine-$10.00
This is my favourite body lotion to use. I like using this because it's almost as moisturizing as a body butter, but it isn't as thick so it doesn't take me a long time to rub this in after I take a shower. This also smells really good and I love the packaging (purple is my fave colour!)

3.  Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer-$20.00

I love using this in the daytime. This cream is specially formulated for oily skin, which I need and it
helps keeps my face matte. This face cream is amazing to use in the winter and the summer,
because it has SPF and it isn't heavy on the face at all!

4. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer-$30.00

This moisturizer is ah-mazing! It feels so good when you put this on your skin! If I have to describe
it, I would say that its like a cool, light gel on your face. It is a little for expensive, but I think
it's worth it! I use this at night, because it does not have SPF in it, so it wouldn't really help
me if I put it on in the daytime.

5. Warm Pair of Socks-H&M

I don't know why, but my hands and feet are ALWAYS ice-cold, so I like to wear a pair of warm
socks at home just so my feet have a more normal temperature. I got these socks in a pack of 3
for $10.00, and the pattern's on the socks are cute :)

6. Booties- $7.50 from Ardene

Like I said, my feet are always cold, so if I'm not wearing socks, then I'm wearing these booties. They're so warm that I can't wear them for too long, otherwise I start sweating!

7. Comfy, but Cute Hoodie-$30.00

I am always wearing a hoodie at home in the winter. I used to wear old, oversized hoodies, but I've learned that while you don't have to be ready at home, you should still look presentable! There have been many times where my family or friends have decided to make a surprise visit to my house and I have looked, well, for lack of a better word, ratchet. So, I like wearing hoodies like this, where I am warm, but I don't look bad.

8. Coffee

This counts as a all-year-round must-have, but since I drink this everyday in the winter, I thought I would include it. I need coffee in the morning, otherwise I can't function so this is definitely a must-have! (By the way, I have been drinking Nescafe's Hazelnut Coffee and it is DELICIOUS!)

9. Oatmeal

I have never been a person who likes oatmeal, but recently I tried it and I've been liking it a lot! Especially this kind! Now, the reason I say this is a winter must-have, is because oatmeal is a hot, filling kind of breakfast so I know I wouldn't be able to eat it in the summer. I like eating this after I come out from the cold, or even at night (I eat breakfast for dinner often!)

I hope you guys enjoyed this post!

N

OOTD-February 24, 2013

Hey Everyone!
Hope you guys are having a good morning! :) Today is the last day of spring break for me, so I have to go back to school tomorrow :( Last night, I was getting my outfit together because I am spending the day with my family today and I thought I would show you guys what I'm wearing. This was shot at a time when I was really tired, so I'm not wearing the clothes, but hopefully you get an idea!

Leopard tank with Collar: $14.90 from H&M
Lightweight Sweater with Metallic Threading: $18.90 from Forever 21
Jeggings (These are like the ones on my last OOTD post, but they don't have zippers!): $30.00 from Garage
Earrings: $8.00 from Aldo
Purse: $20.00 from H&M

I hope you guys liked this post! I'm going to try to put as many posts as I can today, because I have midterms next week and I'm going to be a little busy! Please leave any requests in the comments, and I hope you all have a great day!
